The Honeymoon Trail is a small painting in acrylic evoking an old traditon which is the journey a Bride takes after the wedding to the place that will become her new home, most often at the in-laws.  This involved a group of family members accompanying her  on foot while she is generally veiled and ridding a decorated mule or donkey. This was a tradition in my country of origin Eritrea and surrounding areas. I was always struck by the notion that when she was leaving her family of origin, she would have the chance to come back a month later, so that her family could check on her and her new environment.
